Dr. Jared Day, PhD, will present two programs that examine the historical roots of two of America’s most cherished national and religious holidays.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Dr. Day will tell the story behind New Year's Day.

On Monday, Feb. 10, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., he will share the story of the creation and evolution of Valentine’s Day.

These events are co-sponsored by Simsbury Senior Center and Simsbury Public Library. Both are free, and take place in the library’s Program Room on the lower level.
