Wadsworth Docents Celebrate 50 Years

The Wadsworth Atheneum’s Docent Council is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a variety of activities throughout this year, including a visit to our Senior Center on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The event is free, but registration is necessary.
Docents are visiting more than 50 libraries, senior centers, and other community institutions across the state to present interactive talks on works in the museum’s collection.
Formed in 1968, the Wadsworth Atheneum’s Docent Council shares a passion for art, as well as the desire to engage and inform the public about art, the vast collection of the museum, and extraordinary dedication to excellence in teaching.
Their service to the museum allows Atheneum visitors to experience greater possibilities for learning, contemplation and enjoyment.
